Radiology/Imaging Technologist

The Radiology/Imaging Technologist has to be able to perform a variety of imaging studies specific to special modalities such as Ultrasound, Mammography, and special procedures, including CT/MR and QC.

(1) Receive patients, explains procedures and answers all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam.
(2) To be able to perform a variety of special imaging examinations using established or dictated protocols.
(3) To be able to reconstruct images, films as well as process films using an automatic film processor and for laser camera.
(4) Operates imaging and other related equipment according to the manufacturer"&tm;s specifications.
(5) Monitors and assists patients, before during and after examinations.
(6) Enters and completes appropriate orders in SMS and RMS.
(7) Complete appropriate charge slips.
(8) Assists in radiologist in performing a variety of imaging examinations using sterile techniques.
(9) Provide first aid/ CPR to patient when necessary.
(10) Assists in performance improvement within sections and/or department.
(11) Maintain patient, hospital and employee confidentiality. To be able to provide quality care to patients of varying categories, i.e., pediatrics, geriatric and adolescent patients.
(12) To perform quality control and maintain pertinent local, state and federal records as applicable to different sections.
(13) Applies knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
(14) Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
(15) Asses date reflective of each patient"&tm;s status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient"&tm;s age requirements relative to his/her age-specific healthcare needs.

Required Skills:
Education: High School Diploma or GED, and completion of AMA-sponsored School of Radiologic Technology

Experience: Two years of experience as a radiology technologist.

Certification & Registration are a must:
(1) Registered or Registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) required to perform routine radiography.
(2) Current CPR certification (healthcare provider level).
