X-Ray Tech (limited, bilingual) - Nights & Weekends

U.S. HealthWorks is one of the nation's largest providers of occupational medicine and urgent care services. We are currently seeking Xray Technicians to work in our clinics in the East Edinger / Orange County region. The full-time, part-time and per diem shift employees will cover our nights and weekends.  Competitive salary!

 

 

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Perform radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform selected nursing and administrative/clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a physician. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual's degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a medical office environment. Involves frequent exposure to ionizing radiation as well as communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a center environment. May involve dealing with angry, upset or uneasy people.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, as well as eye-hand coordination. Frequent standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds. Helps lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds to place them in appropriate positions for operation of equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed films. Hearing within the acceptable range for telephone contacts.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing. Knowledge of radiology equipment. Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement. Skill in properly positioning patients. Skill in identifying equipment problems. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Knowledge of medical practice and organizational policies to administer patient care. Knowledge of examination and diagnostic procedures. Knowledge of use and maintenance of radiological equipment and instruments. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in documenting and maintaining patient care records. Skill in identifying and communicating problems to the supervisor. Skill in following medical quality assurance and quality control standards. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and other staff. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly with patients and other staff. Good oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and to work under high pressure situations. Good telephone manners and etiquette. Detail orientation and organization. Flexibility in working hours to handle variation in the inflow of patients and cover the needs of the department.
REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience
Appropriate credentialing to work as an Xray tech in the state of California.  Completed course of Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)is preferred.


 

Experience
None required; however, previous experience in an orthopedic and/or trauma radiology department is desirable.
