Physician Relations Coordinator
Physician Relations Coordinator
Summary of Position
Reports to Marketing Director to develop, maintain and enhance working relationships between the hospital, physicians and their office staff resulting in increased referral and diagnostic procedures for the hospital.
Essential Functions
Supports CEO in physician recruitment, retention and redirection
Maintains professional relationships with physicians and their staff
Develops marketing strategies to inform physicians and their staff of hospital diagnostic procedures, services and resources
Coordinates with hospital departments to produce physician newsletter
Tracks and trends physician referrals, admissions and outpatient procedures
Develops strategies to increase physician referrals, admissions and outpatient procedures
Evaluate physician community outreach programs and make recommendations as appropriate
Interface and support MVMC Marketing department
Facilitate communications between physicians and CEO and COO regarding physician needs, concerns and targeted outcomes
Skill sets
Effective communication skills: written, oral and platform
Ability to assess data in order to effectively track and trend admission and referral patterns
Analytical ability to develop strategic plans based on information from varied sources
Demonstrated effective sales and marketing techniques
Knowledge of local medical and health care community helpful
Requirements
- Bachelor?s degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years in venues of physician and medical staff interaction, healthcare or direct marketing experience
- Flexible schedule to accommodate meeting with physicians and their staff at various locales within the medical center?s service area
