Director of Sales - Palm Desert Country Clubs

American Golf is the largest operator of golf facilities in the world and manages more than 175 premier private, resort and daily fee courses.  The company is privately held and employs more than 12,000 co-workers nationwide.  The company is expanding their sales team and we have various openings in catering sales, membership sales, and group/tournament sales.  We are looking for results-orientated, driven sales professionals that are confident in their sales ability to work on a commission driven/uncapped compensation plan:



Director of Sales Location:Palm Valley Country Club & Monterey Country Club ? Palm Desert (new position at both clubs)Reports to the General Manager Compensation:  75k at plan (50/50 split between base & commission ? 35k base/35k commission at plan; uncapped commission plan; top performers making 90k+)Benefits:  In addition to health, dental and life insurance, benefits including a flexible spending account, free golf, and discounts on merchandise and food & beverage.

 

Job Responsibilities:Responsible for maximizing course revenue by establishing and attaining membership, catering and event sales targets and managing the sales team to exceed the sales goals.Maintain annual budget for sales revenues/expenses as well as reviewing sales reportsGuide team with lead generation strategies, utilizing contact database daily to build and maintain prospects, networking with members, guests and the community to maximize leads and referralsManages Sales staff job results by recruiting, selecting and hiring with General Manager qualified individuals; conducting sales orientation and training; assigning, evaluating, supervising performance and carrying out disciplinary action as needed, in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws Promote the property to the local community by attending member functions, monthly Chamber of Commerce meetings and trade association meetings

 

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

 High school diploma required (4-year college degree preferred) and 5+ years of related experience in sales/sales management. Knowledge of golf preferred and/or experience in the hospitality industryProficient in computer software including sales databases, Microsoft Word, Excel Strong sales skills with financial history and sales management skills required. Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills, ability to work with little or no direct supervision. Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired.
