At Armstrong, Plant HR Managers partner with our business unit leadership teams in attracting, developing, motivating and engaging employees.  This means that you will be the HR point person for the plant, responsible for organizing and delivering HR services, collaboratively designed with the Corporate HR groups for both union and non union operations.

Our HR philosophy is based on providing excellent service delivery.  Working with our HR Centers of Expertise, Generalists ensure organizational effectiveness and pro-active problem solving within a culture that enables employee productivity.  We are seeking HR practitioners for the role of HR Plant Managers who share this vision, understand the challenges of HR and who recognize that HR credibility requires quality delivery of basic employee life cycle operations.

Functional competencies include pro-active staffing, rewards and recognition programs that motivate employees, practical and rational labor and employee relations, data analytics for tracking performance, stand up training skills, hands on employment law mitigation coaching and organization development, mentoring and employee development know how.  The support ratios typically average between 300-400 employees per HR Generalist.

A BA/BS degree or equivalent experience is required, with an MBA degree considered an asset.  Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of HR practitioner experience preferably in a  manufacturing setting, are required. Employee relations/ labor relations skills are crucial as well as hands on knowledge of HR disciplines.  Understanding of SAPHR systems or a similar HRIS database logic would be helpful. Project management skills are assumed.
