ALS Programmer/Analyst

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related business field, or equivalent professional experience. Four to six years programming and analysis experience. Must be proficient in IBM MVS JCL, UTILITIES, and COBOL for MVS, CICS and VSAM access method. Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical employees both orally and in writing. Should be able to work independently with little supervision in a group. Prior banking background preferred. Four plus years prior applications experience with Fidelity/Alltel/Systematics applications preferred.

 

Description:
Under general direction, formulates system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems using data processing, keeping in mind the capacity and limitations of the equipment, operating time and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents those programs. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of application systems and analysis and programming, but may also have duties of instructing, directing and checking the work of other application systems analysis/programming personnel. Provides quality assurance reviews. May acts as project leader. Projects may include installation/modification/maintenance of vendor software.
