Installation Technician II

Specific Responsibilities:

 

1.  Provide for the installation of systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Parking Control Equipment, Intercom Systems, Single Door Entry, Central Monitoring Systems and other suppliers that have been identified as BEST approved.  Installation techniques must be to industry approved standards and codes.

2.  Independently manage small jobs.

3.  Provide basic customer training for proper system usage.  Respond to customer technical inquiries for products to ensure customer confidence/satisfaction and provide customer education while at customer location, referring issues to Install Technician III as necessary.

4.  Submit complete and accurate paperwork in a timely manner obtaining the proper signatures.  Accurately record mileage figures, timesheets, daily job reports, changes and codes.  Properly identify warranties and provide accurate descriptions.  Complete paperwork neatly and legibly.

5.  Assist with service when assigned.

6.  Mentor and assist lower level techs.

7.  Safety compliance.

8.  Properly maintain company vehicles, equipment, vehicle inventory as required.

9.  Maintain a clean and organized working environment at the office and in the field.

10. Ensure field changes are forwarded to the application engineering department so accurate asbuilt documentation can be maintained.

11. Support the sales staff in the development of new business.

12. Performs duties and responsibilities as described in the quality system.

13. Perform work according to the Field Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.

14. Perform other duties as requested by management in support of SSO goals.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

? 2 Years industry experience

? All tech 1 skills

? Must be knowledgeable of low voltage, certification preferred

? Knowledge of industry standards BHMA, ASTM, DHI, BOCA, Life Safety Codes, and UL.

? Proficient at panel terminations, computer configuration, and software installation.

? Detailed knowledge of BEST and BEST's products and services preferred

? Skills or experience with personal computers, including electronic E-mail, personal scheduling, word processing and electronic spreadsheet skills required

? Knowledge of Windows NT/2000/XP preferred

? Ability to identify and satisfy customer needs along with a strong customer service orientation required

? Ability to work beyond standard working hours, as well as, participate in an on-call schedule is required

? A valid state driver?s license, without restrictions, is required for this position

? Ability to work independently on customer site

? Ability to meet deadlines and have strong time management and organizational skills

? Proven interpersonal skills with customers or prospects

 

Education/Experience:

? High school education or equivalent is required with an Associates degree in mechanical or electronics preferred

? Minimum of two years industry experience required

? Certified in DHI, NBFAA Level 1, and NICET Level 2
