Principal Pipeline Operations Control Analyst

The incumbent is responsible for the following areas within Operations Planning:  1) Design, develop, implement and support technological tools for Pipeline System Operations (PSO).  2) Serve as Business Expert for PSO on SCADA and Premier.  3) Administer capacity allocations and/or limitations (OFO`s) when system conditions warrant.  4) Use the pipeline simulation model to analyze existing and/or new operational situations and recommended improvements. 5) Develop algorithms for monitoring fuel gas consumption vs. a target, and track progress against the target, and make recommendations for improvements.  6) Collect and analyze data for presentations to customers and management, and make recommendations based on the findings.  7) Work with other departments, as necessary, to provide operations support.

The incumbent must have a 4-year degree, preferably in engineering or information technology.  Incumbent must be proficient with computers, have the aptitude to learn programming languages and database skills, and have excellent communication skills.  They must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (field personnel, other engineers, accountants, management, customers, vendors, etc.)  The incumbent must have or develop knowledge of the business rules and associated processes.  This job requires very little travel (some field visits), but will require extended daily hours during operational peak periods and possible weekend work. There could also be some night and weekend on-call situations.
