Claims Service Assistant

Only internal WCSC candidates will be considered

The WCSC Loss Services Department has an opening for a Claim Service Assistant. This position will provide both claim-related and administrative services to Claims and OSD. The selected individual will report to the Loss Services Manager, and will work closely with the branch Administrative Assistant and HR Assistant.


The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

? Administer Secure access requests/follow-up for the WCSC
? Work with branch Administrative Assistant to coordinate branch events, including meeting room reservations; set up & breakdown of chairs and tables for branch events; catering needs and electronic presentation equipment.
? Demonstrate an understanding of OSD department functions, work-flows and technology and provide back-up Claim Assistant support during periods of high claim volume.
? Demonstrate technical level of proficiency with Microsoft Programs, including Word, Excel, and Power-point.
? Initiate requests for User ID, nameplates, branch, badge & systems access for all new employees. Ensure appropriate system access and capabilities are provided via proactive follow-up.
? Update branch communication lists (phone directory, Lotus Notes distribution lists.)
? Communicate and coordinate all branch operation requests i.e. building maintenance, vendor services, etc.
? Maintain excel spreadsheets for all vendors and ensure cost allocation/spending are to budget.
? Oversee mail room supplies; coordinate supply requests to ensure all costs allocation/spending are to budget.
? Oversee coffee vendor. Ensure orders are reconciled upon receipt and that all coffee supplies for the 3rd & 4th floor claim areas are maintained & stocked. Review costs to ensure allocation/spending are to budget.
? Perform as back-up liaison for Licensing function
? Perform as back-up to the branch cashier and branch check re-printer

? Knowledge of Claims, Loss Services and Call Center functions
? Demonstrated proficiency with Claim applications and support processes
? Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate, professional manner required
? Demonstrated professional verbal & written skills
? Demonstrated active listening skills
? Possess strong customer service skills
? Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work with minimal guidance
? Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other business-related software

Education and Experience

? High school diploma
? Applicable work experience
