Claims Supervisor, Phoenix AZ

Description:
Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance, built on the heritage of American Express is seeking qualified Claims Supervisor. The Claims Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and leading the daily activities of a team of claims adjusters in our Phoenix, AZ satellite claims office, specializing in property damage and bodily injury liability claims. Activities include ensuring state regulatory compliance, controlling severity, and managing expenses through proper claims investigation, evaluation, negotiation and disposition. Will manage staffing, employee relations, training & development, licensing, and performance management. Will also ensure "Best-in-Class" service is provided to customers and clients to improve customer satisfaction and retention, including effective complaint resolution, and the ongoing pursuit of process and technological efficiencies. Will be responsible for reporting and sharing product knowledge and coverage interpretation with direct manager, peers and other leaders.



Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant work experience in the Property Casualty insurance industry is required. Prior direct supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Must possess a minimum of 5 years claims adjusting experience, preferably with bodily injury and/or auto property damage personal lines. Exemplary verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required, as well as experience negotiating with insureds, claimants, body shops, etc. Strong organizational and leadership skills are required. Must be flexible and act as a change agent in pursuit of achieving organizational results, and be able to work effectively in a highly visible and fast paced environment. Ability to audit, ensure compliance, and provide effective feedback is essential. Computer proficiency is required, preferably with Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes. Strong understanding of compliance issues relevant to the West Coast is also strongly preferred.
