Insurance Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:



Maintain all accounts, records, ledgers and statements of the Insurance Company?s financial condition according to professional and Company standards. Prepares and submits prescribed government (Dept. of Insurance) and management financial reports. Interprets and implements complex financial and regulatory concepts for internal and external planning and reporting.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

? Independently researches regulatory requirements and provides interpretations of application.

? Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare financial reports.

? Analyzes financial information to determine present and future implications.

? Implements new accounting procedures and policies.

? Executes special projects and other miscellaneous accounting tasks.

? Provides day-to-day guidance to subordinate accounting staff and leadership for department members.



Qualifications:



Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college ? CPA and/or MBA preferred ? 3+ years minimum of prior experience in accounting/finance ideally within the insurance industry ? Experience & skills with statutory accounting required ? Strong leadership skills and proactive ? Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and regulatory rules ? Database, spreadsheet, and word processing knowledge required ? Excellent analytical and problem solving skills ? Excellent communication skills.
