Property Field Adjuster

USAA is currently seeking a talented Property Field Adjuster for our Huntsville, AL area.

As a Property Field Adjuster for USAA, you will conduct initial evaluation, investigation and documentation to establish damages and determine appropriate payment under the terms of the applicable insurance policy. You will post appropriate reserves, pays, declines and negotiations claims based on results of first and third party investigations. You will ensure fair claims practices in accordance with policy and legal requirements. You will assist in the risk management process by providing feedback to the appropriate underwriting representative including, but not limited to, risk site visits on insure to value (ITV) issues, as well as assist in providing appropriate response to inter-company arbitration. You will assist claim investigative staff and local/state/federal law enforcement agencies in investigating alleged or suspected cases of fraud. You may be called upon to testify in civil/criminal proceedings as a subject matter expert. You will perform re-inspections of property direct repair program (PDRP) Contractors and Independent Adjusters as required. You may serve as a coach and mentor for PDRP contractors as requested.

Qualified candidates need to possess:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

3+ years of relevant property claims adjusting experience.

Computer literacy in a Windows operating environment.

Ability to meet all USAA safety driving requirements.

Driving record verifiable through MVR.

Ability to acquire and maintain adjuster's license as appropriate.

Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and traverse ladders and roofs.

Availability to travel and work catastrophe duty when needed.

Preferred experience includes:
College degree and/or job-related course work.
Successful completion of insurance-related self-development course(s).
Experience supervising independent adjuster work.
Experience handling bodily injury claims.
Field experience to include performing re-inspections of Property Damage Repair Program contractors and Independent Adjusters.
