We have an immediate opening for an experienced DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR who can manage, monitor, optimize SQL Queries and MS SQL Server databases in high availability systems.? Also be able to design new database schemas for large scale software development projects.

The Database Administrator should be able to work effectively with coworkers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and?objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; and addressing?problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Responsible for daily systems analysis, performance monitoring, patching DBMS software, and backupsProvide technical leadership to Development and Game Systems group as it relates to translating business and user needs to technical solutions.Collaborate with various teams to achieve project goals, including maintaining project schedules, budgets and user acceptance.Develop documentation on database design such as Entity Relationship Design Schemas in UMLDefine, document, encourage use of, and evolve departmental Best Practices based on industry and organizational standards.Define Database Security protocols.Contribute ideas to and provide technical and operations input for tactical and strategic initiatives to the Senior Manager for inclusion in strategic planning initiatives under the direction of the Senior Director of Technical Operations & Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:At least 2 years work experience as a DBAAt least 2 years administration, integration, and design software application architecture including back-end applicationsAt least 3 years experience with Windows 2003 Server and MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005At least 2 years experience designing database schemas using UML, ERDs and documentation toolsAt least 2 years experience with DB monitoring tools such as SpotLight, FogLight, Idera, etc. At least 2 years experience using backup software such Veritias Backup Exec Expert knowledge of reporting tools to extract data using SQL queries, stored procedures Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and accurate project status reports. Proven leadership characteristics, including the ability to achieve results through others. Well developed analytical and problem solving skills along with an excellent understanding of business decision making and cost control processes. Ability to work under pressure. Strong service attitude. Impeccable ethical background. The ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and/or as a member of a project team.
