Internet Web Graphics Designer

Prosoft Learning, a VCampus Company,  is a fast-paced, dynamic technology education company based in Phoenix. We have an exciting opportunity for a Web designer to create, develop and maintain Web templates and Web content for a dynamic company. This full-time position works with marketing staff to create a strong Web identity for a mix of e-commerce, e-learning and academic Web sites serving a varied educational market.

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

-  Key member of the Web design team.

-  Participates in the development of the Web site strategy.

-  Responsible for the overall look and feel of all company Web sites.

-  Works closely with Web programmer in developing and maintaining Web sites.

-  Designs consistent and attractive Web sites based on principles of good design and usability.

-  Maintains templates and image archives.

-  Constructs application pages using current Web languages and techniques, and ensures that the pages conform to standards of accessibility (e.g., Section 508, W3C), HTML validation, and browser compatibility.

-  Troubleshoots and repairs Web site bugs and problems.

-  Contributes to Search Engine Optimization for all Web sites.

-  Participates in web site requirements definition.

-  Provides creative input and support to the Marketing department.

-  Some print work as needed, including vector art logos and book covers.

-  Adapts marketing content for use on company Web sites.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

-  Four years experience designing, managing, and improving web sites.

-  Must be able to show samples and explain involvement in the projects.

-  Must be able to hand code HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript. No WYSIWYG editors.

-  Some knowledge of ASP relating to the display of data is helpful

-  Must demonstrate aptitude for user interface design and usability.

-  Must have a strong grasp of color, layout, and design principles.

-  Expert level XHTML markup and familiarity in working with complex web templates in web production environment.

 

Familiar with these software packages:

-  Adobe Photoshop

-  Adobe Illustrator

-  Adobe Acrobat

-  Demonstrated competency with Macromedia Flash

 

 

Education:

-  Some formal schooling in graphic design principles

-  CIW certification preferred
