We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join the Citysearch ?Quality Assurance? team.  Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring that a high standard of quality is maintained across all Citysearch applications ? including the public facing Cityguide website, internal financial tools, data/content management systems, and partner API?s.  The role of the Quality Assurance team in the development lifecycle is to ensure that the product being delivered has been tested using a variety of testing methodologies and meets both the product and technical requirements as specified.  Quality Assurance uses both manual and automated testing strategies to create innovative test plans and will include use case scenarios to verify both the usability and functionality of the product being tested.  In this position, you will play a major role in the creation of test plans, and implement a testing process to continue a trend of high standard product testing and deployment.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Citysearch is looking for a self motivated Quality Assurance Engineer who is capable of working in a fast paced development lifecycle.  We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer whose duties include developing and executing test plans/test cases as well as tracking and writing defects.  This person must have good communication skills both technically and professionally and be able to perform quality testing of web applications.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary responsibilities:
Analyzes requirements, designs, writes and executes test plans, test cases, test procedures, creates test data sets that are critical to project strategy and success.
Identifies, researches, reports, tracks and validates software defects proactively and comprehensively.
Interacts and effectively communicates in technical and non-technical terms with developers and internal users to evaluate processes, fix problems and to determine test requirements and acceptance criteria.
Performs regression tests to ensure product integrity and quality.
Uses Request tracking software to manage, identify and fix internal user/customer data and tool problems.

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Experience in quality analysis and problem tracking software and business processes.
Ability to write test plans, test procedures, test cases, and create test data sets.
Knowledge of SQL language
Experience with testing and support of web-based applications
Knowledge of Accounting Software a plus.
Experience with Mercury testing applications a plus.
Unix experience a plus
Minimum 3 years technical experience in technical support/testing and process development,
Familiarity with financial and market concepts and market data a plus.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
Must be flexible with changing priorities.
