Senior Network Engineer

As our Sr. Network Security Engineer, you will:

* Oversee all aspects of Shopzilla's Information Security
* Manage the design, implementation, and audit of various security controls, as well as facilitate the policy creation and revision process
* Ensure conformance with best practices across the enterprise
* Select, configure, and deploy commercial or open source tools
* Configure a commercial firewall
* Responsible for Coding a host-based IDS software system (with functionality similar to Tripwire)
* Act in rotation as part of a 24/7 on call network operations team

Your qualifications include:

* 5+ years experience in network security and system administration
* Understanding of TCP/IP, Solaris and Linux, network/system intrusion techniques, Cisco PIX, switches, routers and load balancers, packet sniffers, remote access methodologies, and VPNs
* Database security experience (roles, etc)
* In-depth understanding of software security systems, including cryptography, certificate authorities, etc
* Network security knowledge (network based IDS such as Snort, firewalls, VPN, etc)
* Host based security knowledge (patching, hardening)
* Configuration management methodologies (cfengine etc)
* Extensive Unix systems knowledge
* Software development experience, preferably in perl
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
