Director, Corporate Security

World Vision International is an international Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children worldwide and their communities reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. Our office in Monrovia, CA is seeking a Corporate Security Director.

 

The successful candidate will establishing WV policies, strategies, procedures and standards that will ensure the highest level of security for WV staff and assets and the lowest risk of loss and liability to the organisation.  The successful candidate will monitor existing and potential security risks to field programs and actively proposes measures to mitigate those risks. 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead WV Partnership efforts to improve security for its operations and staff globally.Monitor global security conditions and conduct ongoing analysis of data received from both external and internal sources, and advise senior management on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.  Development & implementation of a partnership-wide security training strategyConduct training needs assessment with Regional Security Officers, National Directors and other key stakeholders resulting in increased security management capacity.Collaborate with the WV Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs, and specifically the Global Rapid Response team, in developing effective security management strategies for operations in complex humanitarian emergencies.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESEducation and/or experience equal to a Bachelor?s degree on the university levelProven track record (preferably 5-7 yrs) experience in the security industryProven security management skills and minimum three years international field experience in NGO field operations, preferably in insecure environments.Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skill required, demonstrating World Vision?s Core Capabilities at the leadership level as well as individual level.  Excellent analytical, interpersonal and negotiation skillsAbility to communicate and related cross-culturally with WV national offices, NGOs and other external agencies and governments.Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skillsComputer literate (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc)Ability to travel 35% of timeIndependent and creative individual with strong sense of priorities and organisational skills.Ability to develop and nurture a network of professional contacts in the technical field of NGO security management.
