Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

The goal of the Phelps Dodge Security Department is to achieve excellence in asset protection and control of ingress and egress to PDMI property. The successful candidates will be responsible for: protecting PDMI assets, performing access controls to the property, conducting investigations, monitoring contractors and visitors, issuing parking permits, distributing mail, preparing daily written reports and patrolling the facility. Responsibilities will also include: enforcing company rules and safety guidelines, monitoring Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) and alarm equipment. Other responsibilities may be assigned. This position will be required to work in all weather conditions. The successful candidate will be required to maintain regular attendance on any shift and be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required.

Minimum Requirements:

-High school diploma, equivalency certificate or GED.

-Valid Arizona driver license, a good driving record and able to operate a motor vehicle.

-Required to undergo a full background investigation.

-Excellent safety, work and attendance record.

-Good oral and written communication skills.

-Proficiency in the operation of a personal computer to include Microsoft applications.

-Must be able to work well in a team environment.

-No active counseling.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Two years security/law enforcement experience or equivalent training/education preferred.

-Bilingual (English/Spanish).
