Surety/Security Specialist

The following explains the job responsibilities and expectations for all employees who are classified in this job family. Under general supervision, handles a wide range of complex specialized duties and restricted personal and sensitive information pertaining to Personnel Security Clearance information.  Specialized duties include but are not limited to:  personnel and physical security, government chemical surety program, personnel reliability program, and munitions/agent accountability.  They may serve as a Trusted Agent, defined as taking custody of potential disqualifying information related to the Personnel Reliability Program, substance abuse program and classified security information/documents in accordance with Army regulation 50-6, Chemical Surety.  Is responsible for screening personnel records in accordance with Army Regulation 50-6.  Perform 90-day status updates with Defense Security Service on pending Personnel Security Investigations.  Alternate Toxic Chemical Munitions/Bulk Agent (TCM/BA) Custodian responsible for the following duties:  posting accountability documents to the Chemical Accountability Management Information Network; posting accountability documents for Special Equipment Test Hardware items; performing accountability audits on Chemical Surety material in accordance with government regulations; attending TCM/BA accountability meetings.
