The Sr. Counsel- Leasing will provide direct legal support to the Real Estate Department in connection with the negotiation and drafting of new store leases and related documents. Supervises and manages one (1) paralegal who supports this position. Supervises and manages outside counsel assigned to perform similar duties. Will work closely with the PetSmart Construction and Real Estate Teams.

Must have JD with 10 years of relevant experience in retail "big box" leasing. Superior negotiating and writing skills are essential, as well as strong project management and leadership skills. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret complex real estate development documents and have the ability to represent and speak for PetSmart in a clear and convincing manner. Should also have a superior ability to interface effectively with senior management, effectively build team relationships, and be able to manage and mentor direct staff reports. Will also manage outside attorneys to achieve desired business objectives. Prior in-house retail real estate experience preferred.
