Also produced at the plant are catalysts for sulfur removal in the refining and gas industries.

 

The Caustic Management Services group of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC (MCRS) brings to the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries more than 50 years of experience in the handling of sulfidic caustic effluent streams, a co-product of caustic treating.

 

Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC has four business units: Caustic Management Services, Process Technology Division, Gas Technology Processes, and a plant in Tuscaloosa.

 

 

Lab Analyst (Req # 6-26-LA-Black Warrior)

 

This position is responsible for handling routine operations or special projects in the analytical laboratory to provide laboratory services for operation of the plant and its related business activities. (i.e. accounting, sales, S&D.) Required skills are: 4-year science degree including chemistry courses; material related to plant operation; analytical methods and procedures used in the laboratory; operating instructions and maintenance techniques for different instruments and equipment used in lab; different product lines and characteristics of each; rudimentary knowledge of plant operations; software applications, i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

This position will work with Operations Supervisor to set specific scheduling priority for samples and to obtain needed information on samples.  Provide analytical data to operations, plant administration, and others in company to facilitate business activities.  Provide accurate and complete analytical data to information system so that analytical reports generated from the system are accurate.  Accurately complete all forms and records including; lab records, NCCARs, incident reports, inspection forms and other safety forms.  Assist in writing some reports.
