Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

-To perform operations tasks as necessary to be an integral part of the Smelter Bedding Plant/Material Handling team. Tasks include, but not limited to, concentrate unloading, utility, resource recycling material handling, forklift operation, dump truck operation, 35 ton truck operation, loader operation and other activities as assigned by leader.

Minimum Requirements:

-Must be willing to learn the appropriate skills to perform bedding plant operations.

-Must hold safety as a core value at work and off the job and support the "Zero and Beyond" philosophy. The individual must understand the impact that the quality of material handling work has on cost to the operation of the Smelter.

-Must be able to work in a regulated environment including the exposure to extreme heat and be willing to work rotating shifts and overtime as may be required.

-Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Must be able to work effectively either independently or in a team environment. Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and teamwork skills, a professional attitude, and paying attention to details are a plus. Able to operate; Allied 1404 Car hoe, 35 ton haul truck & other dump trucks, various size loaders, vacuum truck, bobcat, forklift(s).

Criteria/Conditions(specific background and skills):

-All 5000-23 certifications for the above described equipment is a plus. Consideration will be given to work performance and attendance record.
