Ultimate switch hitter background is the best (between Java and ASP.Net, C#).  Will hire either Java/J2EE skill set.

 

Java/J2EE Positions:

? Java (currently using 1.5, or Java 5), both server and client side.

? J2EE Java (currently using Servlets and JSP).

? Web Services (can train someone, ideally they will have this). Java Web Services Development Pack (JWSDP). Web Services ? using Sun Application Server, thinking about moving to BEA Web Logic.  RMI (Remote Method Invocation), and/or RPC (Remote Procedure Call).

? Swing.

? Web Start (or Webstart) ? automatically updates the programs when connecting to the server and it updates for newer version of program etc., eliminates patches.

? JDBC background.

? Able to demonstrate proficiency in XML based technologies to include, XHMTL, XSL, XSD, as well as SOAP and WSDL.

? Applets (currently using one Applet to identify the type of browser the client is using).

? EJB background is helpful from an overall prospective, not using EJB?s now.

? Multi-threaded application background.

? Sun Developer Certification has value.

? All Windows environment.

? MS SQL Server environment.

 

Pluses:

? Oracle.

? BAE Web Logic.

? Performance profiling tools i.e.:  JProbe, Vantage Analyzer, etc.

? XML Spy.

? Knowledge/experience in US DoD Intelligence Disciplines and/or Systems, in particular CI/HUMINT.

? Direct experience with US Military Communications/Messaging systems.

? Direct experience and/or knowledge of US Military report formats (USSID, USMTF, DCIIS, JVMF).

? Knowledge/experience in developing system software in a SCI security environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for heavy coding, bug fixing and implementation of high volume mission critical applications. The candidate will participate in a very fast paced, full life-cycle of the development process - from analysis, design, development, implementation, modification, documentation, and refinement for software systems, as well as providing detailed development schedules for assigned tasks. Interaction with senior management, and non-technical stakeholders on a regular basis is expected. The position will be required to work closely with other program engineering disciplines throughout the development process.

As a recognized Senior Java Developer with hands-on development the selected individual will play an active role in day-to-day development as well as helping to further refine long term engineering processes. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing requirements, creating designs, defect tracking, making key decisions during development, and communicating risks and roadblocks to management. Additionally, the selected individual will also be expected to provide significant contributions to the code base.

 

Lots of bug fixing to make new changes and enhancements.  Work in a fast pace environment, lots of multi-taking is needed.  Fire fighting capabilities needed to fix problems.  Ability to mentor Jr. programmers.

 

Ability to work independently to dig in and find problems and identify areas of improvement.

 

Need multiple skill sets, learn other people?s code to work in multiple areas.
