A Top Secret security clearance is required for consideration.? Maintain smooth operation of a UNIX multi-user system for end users. Maintain hardware/software for the system including hardware and software configurations, networking, installation of UNIX OS and application software. Duties include, but are not limited to: setting up systems and user accounts, maintaining documentation, installing UNIX software and patches, troubleshooting of systems and network configurations. Candidate must be familiar with UNIX OS, CISCO routers/switches, Cabletron switches, Silicon Graphics platforms, SUN platforms, and PC platforms as well as IRIX and software scripting. Candidate will be required to learn management/configuration/operation of customer developed application/mission software running on Sun and Silicon Graphics platforms. Candidate will be required to work occasional off-shift hours as needed and provide on-call after hours support. Candidate must have the ability to work on a military installation and in a military environment.? This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline, preferably computer science, and 12+ years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
