Associate Director, Corporate Relations

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is a special place where children have been cared for and cured for more than 100 years. Our hospital has become one of the world's top pediatric facilities, acknowledged throughout the United States and around the world for our leadership in pediatric and adolescent health.The CHLA Foundation has an immediate opening for an Associate Director in the Corporate Relations department. Responsibilities include soliciting corporate and cause-related marketing gifts for CHLA. Will assist the Director in all aspects of the corporate relations department including but not limited to preparing corporate proposals, securing corporate sponsorship and cause-related gifts. These responsibilities include the identification and solicitation of prospects, the coordination of volunteer leadership through the Corporate Sponsorship/Marketing Committee, the assistance of managing the support staff, and the oversight of related activities. The revenue goals of this position will be identified at the beginning of each year.  Qualifications: Due to it's special nature, the position requires an experienced professional with 5-7 years of demonstrated successful fund raising or its equivalent, preferably in a medical or higher educational setting. College degree, preferably in a liberal arts or scientific field, or equivalent work experience required. Requires a thorough knowledge of fund raising principles and techniques, corporate relationships marketing skills as well as successful experience working with volunteers and donors. Experience in management of professional and support staff preferred. Knowledge of the community is a plus.

Skills: Strong interpersonal skills as particularly in dealing with hospital staff, patients and their families, volunteers, and all types of prospects. Experience in successful volunteer management. Excellent verbal and written skills, creativity, independent judgment an follow-through. Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously. Competency in computer skills including word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels of internal and external constituencies.
