Associate Vice President, Annual Giving

The Associate Vice President, Development is responsible for providing leadership and implementing the annual and various unrestricted activities managed by fund-rising staff for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Foundation. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Development, the AVP will serve as the administrator of annual giving, direct mail, donor clubs, special events, Children's Miracle network (CMN) programs, sub-branding, e-philanthropy and the Children's Fund. Under the Sr. VP, Development's guidance, the AVP will secure unrestricted contributions and sponsorships, develop strategic and marketing partnerships and volunteer leadership in tandem with CHLA Foundation's goals and priorities. The AVP, Development will represent the Sr. VP to both internal and external constituents when appropriate.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree required, an advanced degree and/or related work experience is preferred.  Sr. Level management experience and skill in directing a large and complex development program. Corporate, Academic and medical experience preferred. Seven to ten years of demonstrated successful fundraising, annual and various unrestricted development experience, preferably with campaign experience. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of annual and corporate philanthropy and fundraising in a medical and/or academic setting. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement a program of comparable size and complexity including the ability to envision, plan and articulate future directions and meet the needs of multiple entities. Flexible to changing environmental and internal factors. Demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing, the importance of philanthropy and the fundraising goals of the CHLA Foundation to individuals, groups, corporate and community leaders, and foundations. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills required.
