Job Description

 

Position Summary:

 

Under the supervision of the Director of Fundraising, this position ensures that all administrative, clerical and support tasks within the department are carried out in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.  Responsible for processing checks and preparing donor reports on a daily basis, managing the donor database, processing thank you letters and inputting data into the computer.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 Process and document all financial donor checks received on a daily basis. Maintain and control statistical and financial records to provide accurate data on an ongoing basis.  Prepare reports and studies as requested. Input donor information into the database program and update records as needed.  Perform mail merges for major donors and planned giving donors.  Become familiar with Raiser's Edge software and keep current on changes to MS Office software. Produce donor reports from database program as needed by department staff. Perform general administrative duties, including but not limited to, efficient answering of phone calls, typing and copying.  Delegate to volunteer clerical staff when possible. Maintain accurate files making sure information is organized and easily accessible. Additional duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 AA Degree or equivalent desirable.  At least 2 years of database management experience or 2 years general office working with numbers.  Good computer skills in Word and Excel, experience with Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge a plus. Must be an accurate typist with a minimum of 40 w.p.m. Good oral and written communication skills including appropriate telephone etiquette. 10 key experience a plus. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with changing priorities.

 

Physical Skills and Abilities:

 

Work is performed in the office and requires prolonged period of time using a computer, keyboard and screen.  Position requires sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities as well as grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports.  Memory must facilitate positive attention to numerous tasks and a multitude of detail.
