POSITION AVAILABLE: NOW ABOUT THE POSITION: Under general direction of and in close cooperation with the Director of Development, the Development Associate provides support for the development department. The associate will be involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of La Clinica's fundraising efforts in the areas, of individual, corporate, and foundation giving. Assists in implementing a program to identify, cultivate, and solicit annual fund gifts for La Clinica and fundraising projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in liberal arts, journalism, business, or related field. Minimum of 2 years of professional Development experience required. Must be able to write effective letters and proposals and help manage the fundraising software system. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and ability to manager multiple projects. The ideal candidate must posses exceptional oral, written and computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure and to effectively meet external and internal deadlines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, coordinates, implements annual appeals, events and other activities designed to increase success in private fundraising for La Clinica. Researches new sources of funding. Writes solicitation letters and proposals. Works with staff preparing brochures, annual reports, other promotional materials and door solicitation letters. Works with the development director and the development staff to generate support from the community and helps create annual gift opportunities; formulates and coordinates direct mail and matching gifts program; is passionate and sensitive working with minority consistencies. Participates in the department's long term strategic and short-term operational planning efforts. Attends meeting as required. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
