Director of Major Giving

PetSmart headquarters (Store Support Group) in Phoenix, Arizona currently has an opening for a Director of Major Gifts. The Director of Major Gifts is responsible for creating and executing objectives/strategies/tactics for developing and growing a major gifts program for PetSmart Charities (PCI). This individual works closely with the Executive Director to identify priorities for fundraising focus. Responsible for the conceptualization, planning, implementation and monitoring of major gift program for individuals donating $5,000+. Additional responsibilities are as follows: designs and develops specific solicitation strategies, identifies gift opportunities that match donors? interests, cultivates potential contributions, personally solicits and closes gifts, and continually stewards donors. Directs organization, planning and implementation of advisory board or volunteers as may be appropriate to meet established fundraising objectives.



 

Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college or university required. Advanced degree desirable. A minimum of seven years relevant experience is required. Animal welfare background preferred.
