Director of Regional Development

DIRECTOR, REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT - ORANGE COUNTY
Special Olympics Orange County is seeking a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years of development experience. Candidate will identify, cultivate and solicit individual, foundation and corporate prospects; develop and implement annual strategic plan to meet fundraising goals; prepare grant applications; and ensure that all special events reach target goals. Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills a must. Special events and cause-related marketing experience a plus. Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and be willing to work evenings/weekends as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from accredited college/university. Five or more years experience in fundraising. Special Olympics experience preferred. Have valid California driver?s license and meet minimum CA vehicle insurance requirements. Excellent communication skills (oral and written), strong organizational skills, and established experience with development, sales or sponsorship.  Ability to work independently. Volunteer recruitment and management skills. Ability to work with diverse personalities and stressful situations. Computer literate. Willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends to meet job requirements.
