Payroll Clerk

General Purpose: 

Under direct supervision of the Payroll Supervisor the Payroll Clerk will perform payroll functions and other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of three college semester units in Accounting. Associate of Arts degree preferred.Minimum two (2) years experience in ADP. Payroll experience and 10 key.  Strong computer skills. Knowledge in Excel, Spreadsheets and Report Smith.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proper phone etiquette.Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

 

?  Process time cards and accurately pay all employees on scheduled pay days

?  Transmit weekly payroll information into ADP and review report for accuracy

?  Process garnishments, prepare termination checks and submit voluntary deductions sucks as union and retirement plan

?  Prepare and maintain all payroll records

?  Assist employees to understand their paycheck information and answer questions related to their pay

?  Assist to complete reports with appropriate agencies for such as quarterly EDD reports

?  Maintain employee payroll files including updating and filing documents

?  Upon request will perform research for audits and report

?  Upon request will update and distribute payroll

?  Other duties as assigned.
