Security Supervisor

PM & EM Security Supervisor (2 positions, 1 each shift), Security Operations, The J. Paul Getty Trust

 

Security Supervisor for the PM (swing) and EM (graveyard) shift ensures the safety of visitors and staff and oversees the security of the Trust?s assets, buildings and grounds.  Duties include daily supervision of Security Officers assigned to his/her team; writing/reviewing daily logs and procedural memoranda; conducting roll call and issuing instructions to officers on the shift; patrolling galleries, facilities and premises to oversee appropriate security measures; and maintaining adequate security coverage at assigned locations.  Other responsibilities include performance management; conducting coaching and counseling sessions; writing officer reviews; participating in new hire interviews; writing/preparing reports relating to attendance, discipline, incident, accident, medical and safety emergencies.

 

1 to 2 years supervisory experience and detailed knowledge of security rules, regulations and operating procedures required.  Must work well under pressure, make rapid decisions and exercise excellent judgment and discretion.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy with visitors and staff, organization in managing paperwork and overseeing staff assignments required.  Must be able to work any shift, holidays and weekends on a regular basis, accept assigned regular days off and annual vacation time on a seniority basis.

Salary commensurate with experience, starts at $20.58 per hour plus shift differential.
