Senior Program Director for School Age Child Care

GENERAL FUNCTION

This position is responsible for the overall direction, management and operation of the Pasadena YMCA?s four after school child care sites and three summer programs within the goals and objectives of the Pasadena YMCA. This includes responsibility for site administration and development of  successful licensed programs, including department budget development and management; program and curriculum development and implementation; the hiring, development, supervision and an annual evaluation of site staff; the overall safety and development of each child; and the overall administration of all after school and summer programs, including enrichment options. The Director is responsible for participating with the staff team to achieve positive results for the Pasadena YMCA.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1.  Twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education or 3 units Early Childhood Education plus 9 related or equivalent units.

2.  Three (3) units of Supervision and Administration of Early Childhood Education completed or in progress within 6 months.

3.  Current 15-hour First Aid and Adult, Infant and Child CPR Certifications, PHP and water safety class.Direct experience working with youth in an active recreational and developmental setting  and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on the lives of youth School age child program development experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.  BA or MA in child development or recreation

2.  At least three years of experience (with increasing responsibilities) in recreation or licensed child care programs

3.  Experience as a YMCA professional
