Supportive Housing Supervisor

The SRHT Property Management Company, a nonprofit affiliate of the Skid Row Housing Trust is seeking a qualified individual to assume the responsibilities of Supportive Housing Supervisor. The Management Company was incorporated in 1995 for the sole purpose of managing the Trust's properties, which house very low income, homeless and disabled persons.  The Trust is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1989 to preserve the remaining single-room-occupancy (SRO) hotels in Los Angeles' Skid Row.  It has purchased and renovated or built more than 1000 affordable residential and commercial units 19 projects in the downtown area, all of which are managed by the SRHT Property Management Company.

 

The Supportive Housing Supervisor will supervise and provide support and training to SRO hotel site resident managers, assistant managers and desk clerks to ensure that effective and efficient management operations are carried out consistent with the company's established policies and procedures.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 Participates with the SRHT Property Management Company Senior Field Supervisor, in the interviewing, screening, hiring and termination process of managers, assistant managers and desk clerks.Employee time card management; approve request for leave and arranges appropriate coverage.Supervise site management and custodial staff to assure timely and proper building sanitation and maintenance.Receives maintenance work orders from SRO site Managers; assigns and coordinates maintenance work; monitors maintenance work to make sure it's completed in a timely manner; monitor quality of maintenance work.Conduct semi-annual inspections of all permanent hotel rooms with Senior Field Supervisor, Manager and lead maintenance person.Monitors and reviews Managers' cash receipts journals for accuracy.Initiates and coordinates evictions with Manager; informs Managers regarding the status of the eviction process.Monitors and supervises site-management's performance; writes periodic job performance evaluations for Managers and Assistant Managers.All other activities necessary to carry out the company's policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum of 2-3 years property management experience is required, preferably in single-room occupancy (SRO) hotels or other low income housing.  Must be familiar with comprehensive property management procedures, including but but not limited to leasing procedures, cash receipts, maintenance, landlord tenant law, employee scheduling and supervision, staffing and personnel matters, income eligibility and compliance procedures.  Must be able to supervise day-to day operations at four to five SRO hotels in Skid Row.

 

Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) is required
