Operations Manager

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, this position supervises all production activities for Value Added products at the Yuma facility.  Direct and supervise activities and set priorities for the production group of 700-900 salaried and union employees involving safety, bagged salad production, and sanitation. Evaluate and implement process improvement projects to increase productivity, quality and safety standards.  Develop and maintain annual production budget.  Manage and report on production costs and productivity to meet and exceed established standards.  Assist in implementing effective employee relations programsStrong ability to use applicable spreadsheet and database computer programs.  Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: 

EDUCATION: BS Business Management, Operations Management or related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:  5-7 years supervisory experience in a food-processing environment; 3-5 years as a manager. Ability to provide leadership and guidance to a large team.

 

SKILLS: Strong knowledge of food plant operations in terms of KPI?s and cost drivers, with exceptional budget development skills and analytical skills. Must be innovative and resourceful; a problem solver with excellent oral & written communication skills. 

   

OTHER: Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment with proven skills in developing and growing inter-departmental relationships - a team player.
