We don't like cold calling

With the introduction of statutory mortgage regulation, the FSA has outlawed the practice of cold calling.

No one likes receiving cold calls from mortgage companies trying to sell their products, but before the FSA started regulating mortgage business, there was nothing to stop companies from simply calling people up out of the blue.

Mortgage advisers will still be able to offer an ongoing service to their clients, assuming they agree, with the FSA focusing on unexpected and unsolicited calls that consumers receive and the high-pressure sales tactics that they often hear on the other end of the line.

The rules should put a stop to those frustrating phone calls during your favourite soap!
