We don't like loan size limits

We do not like loan size restrictions on mortgage products, especially fixed rates.

Borrowers will often see very attractive fixed or discounted rates, only to be told that the maximum loan size is restricted to £500,000 or £250,000.

This may seem like an enormous sum, but it is now not unusual in many parts of the UK and not just London and the south-east. We would like to see attractive rates being made available to those wanting to borrow larger sums - after all, it is quicker for a lender to process one large loan than several smaller ones.

Some lenders may consider that the individual risk involved is high, but there is no evidence that just because a loan is larger there is more likely to be a default.
