We like fees-assisted products

Several lenders offer fees assisted - also known as "help with costs" - loans.

These typically between charge 0.20% to 0.50% more than standard 'no help with costs' mortgages.

They are ideal for those without high savings to pay for mortgage-related fees.

The lender covers the cost of the valuation, the legal fees and often waive application and any high loan to value charges where applicable.

Fees-assisted products can make the difference between borrowers going ahead with a purchase or having to wait.

They can also help with remortgaging as many are put off switching due to costs.
