JOB SUMMARY:


 


The VP, Product Development is responsible for developing and implementing product-line strategies for Health Net’s suite of Medicare products. The individual will be responsible for all phases of the product cycle including product development, marketing plan development and product implementation. This position will work on branding the product from start to finish, positioning the product in the marketplace, and will devise enterprise-wide strategies around customer retention. 


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Owns and manages the annual product development cycle for Health Net Medicare products.
Analyzes Medicare product features to determine product benefits and market demands, recommends product positioning and develops marketing plans to satisfy market needs.
Analyzes and reviews current and potential business opportunities.
Develops new Health Net product lines in the Senior Product space.
Develops enterprise-wide customer retention strategies.
Assists in long range planning and product development.
Plans and monitors marketing project budgets and expenses.
Ensures expenditures stay within guidelines.
Participates in the development of Medicare marketing plan strategies.
Ensures timely delivery of all marketing campaign materials by providing leadership direction to other staff/team members when needed.



REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Health Care or Business Administration preferred.

 

Certification/License:

 

Experience:Experience in healthcare or other related product management. Minimum seven years experience with product development and management required. Experience in Marketing preferred. Consumer Products background is helpful.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Proven project management and communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of managed care systems and processes is strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams, as well as ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Analytical skills are strongly preferred. Knowledge of Medicare and MMA highly desirable.
