Manager of Gaming Content Development

An International Gaming Design and Manufacturing Company, located in Scottsdale, is currently seeking a Manager of Gaming Content Development.  This position is a unique blend of project management, team management, and Research & Development (R&D) coordination.  The ideal candidate will be excited about working in a global environment, adept with managing a team of technical and creative professionals, and knowledgeable of the field of R & D.  This position manages the content development process including providing direction to the Graphic Arts Team Leader and the Game Design Director. 

 

The Content Development Manager:

?  Implements strategies and vision provided by the R & D function of the organization

?  Sets and achieves budget and resource planning for Content Development Department, including annual and quarterly budget forecasting

?  Oversees the design, development, testing and release of content developments until approval

?  Ensures established procedures and policies are followed, reviewed and improved as needed

?  Constantly evaluates all aspects of department in order to make improvements

?  Advises management of changes/issues that may affect profit, schedules, costs, customer relations, and inter-departmental relations.

?  Provides direction to subordinates for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures as related to their activities.

?  Ensures proficiency and productivity of team

?  Conducts supervisory duties including hiring, training, time records, disciplinary actions, etc.

?  Coordinates and directs administrative support functions for the local R&D unit

?  Implements policies and procedures for processes, workflow, filing, and other services

?  Directs budget planning within the content management function.

?  Supervises Team Leaders and/or Department Managers.

?  May represent the local R&D team including representation of all local R & D interests and coordination of local R & D budget

?  Some travel (approximately 10%) is required

?  Works with global colleagues to develop global goals and objectives Experience/Qualifications: 

?  8 years experience in real time research and development

?  Experience working with gaming product design, development, functionality and operation

?  Previous supervisory or management experience

?  2 years budget experience

?  Proficient in Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes

?  Knowledge of Microsoft Project

?  Understanding of effective team management and leadership

? Master's degree or equivalent preferred

?  Excellent interpersonal communication skills
