Job Title: Portfolio Manager/ Sr. Portfolio Manager

 

Reports to:  VP of Corporate Development & Strategic Marketing

 

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Portfolio Manager.  This is a new position for Guava Technologies Inc. and this person will be responsible for managing our new product portfolio, including instruments, software and reagents. The Portfolio Manager will manage and be responsible for cross functional teams comprising of Research and Development, Marketing and Business Development to monitor product development projects from initiation to successful launch.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for managing the portfolio process to identify and monitor product development projects that would yield the best return on R&D investment.Manage and lead the cross functional project teams through the identified project phases to ensure successful product release.Responsible for ongoing management of project schedules.Escalation and reporting to senior management on potential obstacles that could impact the project or program.Oversee the development and implementation of new processes that are required to support the projects and portfolio.Approximately 10-15 % travel required.

 Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills Needed.

 Ideally, we would like to identify a candidate that has extensive background in the Life Science Industry.  This can include biotech, life science research tools, pharmaceutical or diagnostic companies.

 Demonstrated success and the ability to manage portfolio, programs and projects.

 Strong and Effective organization and planning skills.

 Highly motivated and results oriented.

 Demonstrated technical aptitude allowing for rapid learning of product development process



 Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

 

Required a BS or higher degree in a related discipline and five or more years of portfolio and program management experience in the life sciences industry.
