Regional Merchandising Manager
Select Media Services, a leading distribution service for book and magazine publishers, delivering to over 7,000 specialty retailers throughout the U.S. currently has an opening for a Regional Manager in the greater San Diego area. JOB DESCRIPTION
-Individual needs to be a results oriented person with high integrity that can motivate P/T merchandisers and persuade store personnel to support the service execution of books and magazines in major retailers.
-Individual should be proactive and take responsibility for finding the solutions to reaching our objectives. Ideal candidate will be able to relate to their employees and take time to engage associates on a personal level.
-Individual needs to have a very strong work ethic and a strong set of personal values including integrity, honesty and a willingness to provide great customer service.
-This is a ?hands on? position that requires an individual who is comfortable taking on all aspects of the Regional Manager position and will report to the Divisional Sales Manager.
-Essential duties include: Working with and maintaining frequent contact with existing merchandising staff, Counseling and coaching staff on performance issues, Hiring merchandisers as need dictates, Training new merchandisers on essential job duties, Analyzing reports in search of trends and potential problems, Servicing stores.
-In store work is detail oriented and physical in nature. Local and some extended travel is expected as Regional Manager?s average 4 days a week in the field.
