The Ventura County Reporter newspaper and the Ventana Monthly magazine currently have the following positions available in our Ventura advertising sales office:

Retail Advertising Sales Manager:
We are looking for a selling Retail Sales Manager to lead sales for a weekly newspaper and a monthly direct-mail magazine. Duties include direct selling and leading a team of 6-8+ outside sales reps with weekly and/or monthly deadlines. We are aggressive about growth and offer a world of opportunity for the right candidate. If you have a proven track record of sales growth and would like to prove that you can lead a team to success, we want to talk with you. Outside Advertising Sales Professional:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to cold-call on and sell advertising solutions to potential clients. As an Outside Advertising Sales Professional, you would manage a given territory, prospect for new business and secure new advertising clients to meet defined sales goals. You would build and maintain customer relationships, prepare formal advertising proposals for prospective and existing clients, and prepare and review advertising contracts. The compensation is a combination of salary, incentives, commissions and bonuses. Previous sales experience is required, media sales experience is a definite plus but not essential.

Both positions are full-time, with benefits including health and dental insurance, vacation and a 401(K) retirement plan.
