Catalog Coordinator

SUMMARY: Works with the Marketing Department to create catalog page layouts using product and catalog performance data. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with buyers, copywriters, photographers, and graphic designers to publish products in print and online.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

 

? Run reports to show product performance, margin, trend, and square inch

? Create rough catalog page layouts based on marketing data

? Work with copywriters

? Request and direct product photography, working with buyers

? Communicate with graphics staff to enable translation of rough layouts into printer-ready pages.

? Traffic all elements for pages to Graphics and through approvals

? Proofread catalog pages for accuracy

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma; college degree preferred; plus as least 3 years? experience in marketing, production or publication; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental publications and regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL and TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, occasionally in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of data furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to match company?s goals with clearly defined opportunities supported by statistical and anecdotal data.

? Must be well organized, detailed oriented and a self-starter.

? Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

? Must have knowledge of grammar and possess excellent proofreading skills.

? Must possess exceptional ability to gather data, draw conclusions, propose next steps and follow through.

? Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.

? Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

? Must have the ability to quickly learn specific software.

? Must be able to make sound independent decisions based on available data.

? Must be even-tempered and team spirited - a good sense of humor is desirable.  Must be able to work with a variety of personalities in an effective manner.
