Circulation Director

SAGE Publications, a privately owned, multinational leading academic and professional publisher of books, journals, and electronic media, located in Thousand Oaks, with offices in London and India, is currently seeking a Circulation Director to manage and analyze the circulation of our journals and the customer service function.  The Circulation Director is responsible for managment, monitoring and analysis of the portfolio of Sage Journals titles and related projects as well as managing the journals circulation and customer service function. This involves developing strategies for growth and profitability as well as managing the P&L process and monitoring actual revenues, circulation and costs. Conduct Journals Portfolio Analysis from a macro view. Manage Customer Service function that aims to proactively meet customer needs. Monitor performance over time of all titles(revenues, profit margins, price increases, circulation). Finalize P&L projections made at contract stage vs. actual performance through the life of investment. Monitor trends and migration in print/ online, Collections and consortia environment. Manage a staff through effective hiring, supervision, coaching, performance management and mentoring to deliver high quality results.

 

Qualifications:

 

Seven to ten years of previous experience in subscription publishing programs, P&L management, industry accounting practices and management experience. BA degree in Business Administration or related field required.
