Communication Manager

The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) is a nonprofit trade association working to create new opportunities and develop existing international markets for U.S. beef, pork, lamb and veal.  Headquartered in Denver, USMEF has offices in Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Mexico City and London. USMEF also has special market representatives covering China, Europe, the Middle East, Central and South America and the Caribbean. The U.S Meat Export Federation has eight distinct sectors, representing the entire U.S. production, processing and distribution system.  Allied industries, which provide critical inputs to the red meat industry, are also active on the USMEF Board of Directors. USMEF receives funding and support from USDA, exporting companies and the beef, pork, corn, sorghum and soybean checkoff programs.

 

Communication Manager

 

The U.S. Meat Export Federation is seeking a Communication Manager to write, edit and produce USMEF online and print content, and coordinate with producer checkoff organizations to prepare material for their use.  The incumbent will administer the USMEF database operation including content for each international market, as well as issuing and maintaining staff and member usernames and passwords.  Responsibilities will also include reviewing newswire services for articles to post on the web site. 

 

Qualified candidates should have a sound foundation (5-10 years) in news writing and editing, a propensity for detail and accuracy and the ability to work under deadline pressure.  Public relations, and issues and crisis management experience preferred.  Degree in journalism, communications or related field required.
