The Center for Performance Assessment announces an opening for a
Director of Publishing / Publisher.

 

Title:  Director of Publishing

 

Reports to:  Chief Learning Officer

 

Responsibilities:

 

?  Develop content for new and existing education products and resources

?  Conduct market research

?  Review proposals and solicit manuscripts and electronic content

?  Negotiate contracts and assist authors in developing materials

?  Manage relationships with authors new and existing, production providers (i.e. graphic houses, copy editors), publishing outlets and distribution channels

?  Work with Learning Division, authors, consultants, marketing and sales staff on promotion of publications

?  Work with Chief Learning Officer on the redesign of all training manuals and participant guides

?  Pursue avenues for growing the organization?s DVD resources

?  Work with special projects to drive incremental revenue and generate measurable value to clients, to the organization and to the profession

?  Work with Sr Dir of Conferences to host author signings and book displays/bookstores at CPA conferences and events

?  Participate in Center marketing strategies to cross-promote publications, services and products

?  Serve as a member of the Center?s key leadership teams

 

Qualifications:

?  The ability to manage multiple and complex projects with attention to detail

?  Experience with organizing, coordinating and executing book publishing from start to finish

?  Superb communicator with strong written and verbal skills, negotiations skills, facilitation skills and technology skills

?  Advanced degree in education or related field

?  Excellent organization skills

?  Adept at handling budgets

?  Ability at working as a part of a team

?  Ability to travel and work on a flexible schedule

 

Start Date:  Immediately
