Graphic Design Specialist

 

General Summary:  Under direction prepares materials for presentations, promotions and business development.  This position requires the ability to work overtime which often cannot be predicted in advance.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform duties required in the preparation of presentation materials.

1.1.  Use desktop publishing programs to design and create presentation materials, including flow charts, brochures, flyers, pamphlets and newsletters.

1.2.  Scan and size schematics, marks, photos and drawings as requested.

1.3.  Proof work product for quality and accuracy.

 

2. Provide technical assistance as requested.

2.1.  Answer questions and provide assistance regarding various illustration software as requested.

2.2.  Assist printer teams to maintain laser printers by replacing toner and providing basic cleaning as needed.

2.3.  Identify and solve problems with illustration software, printers and scanners.

 

3. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Knowledge of graphic design techniques, concepts and materials.

2. Ability to utilize desktop publishing, illustration software, photo manipulation and related software programs.

3. Accurate typing of minimum 40 wpm.

4. Strong background in English and grammar.

5. Ability to pay attention to detail, follow procedures and work effectively with others.

6. Familiar with duplicating and printing processes, including types of paper stock and inks available.

7. Ability to operate office machines including scanner, printer, laptop, audio visual equipment, photocopiers and fax machines.

8. Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education and Experience:

Prior background in design work and experience with personal computers, illustration software and scanning equipment is required.
