MS Word/Powerpoint Specialist

Learning Tree International (NASDAQ:LTRE), a world leader in Information Technology & Management education is searching for a Publications Productions Coordinator (Word/ Powerpoint Specialist) for our corporate office located in El Segundo.

Basic function:
Responsible for the production of English-language course materials (course notes, instructor guides, exams, manuals, etc.). Coordinates and produces revisions and new courses throughout the entire production cycle, from raw author input to print-ready PDF files.

Specific responsibilities include:
Course materials pre-production Review course material and estimate time needed for production Review relevant databases and prepare material for production

Course materials production Revise existing text and graphics using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Enter new text, draw new graphics, and format course materials based on in-house style Format and correct course materials according to Publications Editor's instructions and markup Initiate quality improvements per current in-house styles and standards Communicate with course authors and technical editors throughout the revision process Coordinate the shipment and return of author/technical editor proofs Coordinate the acquisition of outside items needed for course materials Keep Publications Team Leader and course author apprised of project status

Course materials post-production Prepare PDF files for delivery to worldwide operating units Perform page-by-page quality checks on electronic files and correct problems, as needed Create CDs of electronic files for shipment to authors, as needed Make backups of electronic course files, as needed Update databases and file records as needed for historical course file

Hardware/software Master new hardware and software as needed to stay current with department's production methods

Other Participate in the development of new methods and procedures

Perform all activities and assigned projects to the highest quality possible, meeting milestones, and delivering final materials on time.

 

Qualifications and skills: BA degree preferred but not requiredThorough knowledge of PCs, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Experienced using styles and writing macros in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Strong background in design, typography, and layout Strong proofreading and English language skills Typing speed of 50 wpm or more "Visual literacy"
