NovaNET provides comprehensive online curriculum to high school students nationwide. The NovaNET Curriculum team is responsible for updating and enhancing the online courses in all subject areas to ensure that the product presents content that meets current state educational standards and uses the most current pedagogy.

As a member of the Production group, the NovaNET Producer works within the Curriculum team to identify preproduction requirements and to ensure that lessons comply with department design and functionality guidelines. The Production team serves as the interface to the software development team. The Production team is also responsible for conducting quality assurance testing for multimedia lessons, assessments, and courses that are in development.


RESPONSIBILITIES

- Execute Curriculum department production standards, guidelines, and processes
- Establish multimedia requirements for pre-production and development
-Create lesson design documents that can be understood by a multi-national team of developers
- Review lesson storyboards for style, format, instructional design, and appropriateness of content; ensure lessons align to a variety of approved style guideline
- Create and maintain documentation for workflow and development processes, and communicate this information to the Content Development team
-Act as an end-user expert for various aspects of NovaNET, including the student management system and testing system; perform end-user testing to ensure proper integration of new content into the NovaNET system
- Plan, schedule, and apply relevant test-design techniques to ensure that products are within standards, including content and functionality reviews of storyboards and completed multimedia lessons
- Identify and proactively address possible scheduling, development, or other issues that could affect production cycles

REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a very fast work environment
- Proven ability to coach and provide feedback in a non-threatening, collaborative manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Visualize online functionality based on a written description
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office


DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor's degree or combination of post-secondary education and experience (interface or instructional design, online lesson evaluation, software quality assurance)
- Instructional design experience in an educational software setting
- User interface or information design experience
- Familiarity with multimedia production activities
- Programming skills, HTML experience, or the ability to read code a plus
